Wiener Prater

December--January, Vienna
I will meet my lover in Vienna
what a charming, magical, elegant Vienna
my childhood dreamy grace
maps we will trace, ice cream breaks, and shopping sprees
near by the lakes and his favorite place
Prater

I will see my sweet lover swinging
and by the lake I will be writing and singing
cotton candy at the park we will eat
toys we will win against strangers we defeat
childhood at the back of my head ringing
I can feel the joy from within
Prater

In my balcony and i'm capturing
an insight into a captivating night in Prater
oh honey I fell in love
I can't take this dream from off my mind
let's make this fantasy come true
catch me in Vienna and a few days would do
near by the lakes and my new favorite place too

The Jane Austen Approach

When
there is much to address--a chain
to whine and to complain
it's wiser to choose to read Ms. Austen
Jane
her words should quieten the mourning rain

One must wish to feel improved when one reads
and hope a book would fill a certain gap
one must escape tense reality by diving into fictional deeds
and disregard any affliction

I have witnessed and I have seen
strength appears in volumes   chapters
scenes     in between
for they come with pleasure and Persuasion
with mystery and delight
to comfort the brain

Confusion

Oh no   what's this?
a dilemma and I'm caught in the middle
Oh no   what's more?
a desirable future awaiting but I'm forbidden
what's this distress
this mess
this strangeness
I need to make up this mind
to confess
-
I will tell you two intertwining secrets then
a settled woman is not a settled woman
a stable mind is not a stable mind
-
do not believe me when
when I say I am solid or I am set
when I say I am getting along well
I cannot even dwell

what's this distress
this mess
this strangeness
what happened to my mind
once full of cleverness
now obsessed

A Fear of Change

you are no longer the same
a little more foolish
what is this shame?   who would you blame?
yourself or yesterday's game?
please stay sane

you are no longer the same
a moment you are dreaming
a moment you are awake
a moment you love the rain
a moment you hate
a moment you are quiet
a moment you are a violin
screaming pleasure
screaming din
please stay sane

you are no longer the same
oh dear
do not dare commit a sin
for your mind will frown
and you blessings will drown
look at the usual rain    the usual window frame
count your blessings
and please stay sane

*Note to self: do not lose your brain

Captivation

you with your captivating eyes
I wonder if they are a disguise
or those eyes are so fair they are no lies
eyes of laying secrets more mysterious than the sea
eyes like poems that are unread
eyes of a lover who's never been understood

do I dare to realize
why eyes so fair are alone in the night
I gaze   I see
eyes of a man reflecting wild wind and a far neighboring tree
eyes of a man uttering 'I want to be love-free'
my dear, do not be
for the love in your eyes is what captivates me
and the loneliness in your nights is what tempts me
my dear, do not be

we shall fight this roaring wind
and settle on a tree with our echoing songs until no end
love me and we shall agree
