Captivation

you with your captivating eyes
I wonder if they are a disguise
or those eyes are so fair they are no lies
eyes of laying secrets more mysterious than the sea
eyes like poems that are unread
eyes of a lover who's never been understood

do I dare to realize
why eyes so fair are alone in the night
I gaze   I see
eyes of a man reflecting wild wind and a far neighboring tree
eyes of a man uttering 'I want to be love-free'
my dear, do not be
for the love in your eyes is what captivates me
and the loneliness in your nights is what tempts me
my dear, do not be

we shall fight this roaring wind
and settle on a tree with our echoing songs until no end
love me and we shall agree

Two Homes

walk here    walk here
see uncivilized people sick of despair
mocking    talking    stealing   walking
paths gardened with garbage and dusty air
avoid the scary indifference of those who weren't raised
and never ask for directions if lost
stay here    stay here
they'll take you some where
nowhere

walk there    walk there
see cars defining privilege and crafted houses of millionaires
take a bridge and gaze at clean sideways with lilies and unique wear
and ask for help if lost
polite people will guide you    not scare
and now start to compare
the difference between here    and there

*A reflection on being caught between two cultures, two homes.

Think Books

Once There Was A War between Three Men in a Boat
eager To Kill a Mockingbird

they ran Lost
passed A Doll's House
A Room with a View
saw Dirty Pretty Things
saw Polite Lies
saw A Princess Saves Herself in One
with a lack of Sense and Sensibility
they wondered who won

who wins when Things Fall Apart
Emma?
the Woman at Point Zero?
surely not the three who had a depart
but forget women
the men were alone
droaned
in desperate need for carte
moaned
And the Mountains Echoed

the trio sent Letters Home
each entitled Where My Heart Used to Beat
one sent to Animal Farm
the other to The Mother
and the last to The Pearl

the men wrote Hard Times proposed roads to felicity
times of fighting for The Birds of America
put them down at Wuthering Heights
and what's more
you'll like
